Grafika is a photography zine featuring a collection of portraits that explore the woman figure, identity, and self-image.
Seven women-identifying models make up this project. I wanted the graphics to interact with the models in a bold & captivating way. To create contrast, I kept the models in grayscale to allow the colorful designs to stand out. All of the images are featured in a sixteen page zine along with a poem.
In the poem, Grafika represents a feminine, care-free entity that personifies concepts of graphic design. She is a woman who gives no thought to her imperfections. Grafika stems from my own personal battles with self-esteem, femininity and identity.
